Getting game consoles for free 9
No, I am not promoting one of those websites that make you sign up for offers you dont need. I am presenting an arbitrage opportunity that everyone should capitalize on. If you love games and game consoles, you will understand this even better.
News:- The PS3 is releasing on November 17
- The Wii is releasing on November 19
Some of you may have understood what the arbitrage play is. For those that did not, here is a little more information.
Fact: When demand exceeds supply, prices go up
Ok, for those of you who still do not get it, I’ll get to the point.
Historically, whenever a new game console is released, there is always a severe shortage of consoles. This shortage forces many game aficionados to pay extra for the consoles. How much extra ? Sometimes 2-4 times the price of the original. (Sometimes you have to pay to be the coolest kid).
How to exploit this ?
Stand in line the day the console is released. Take some friends(who dont want a game console) along if you can. On the day of the release, you can typically buy one console per person. So buy as many as you can. Once that is done, go home and list them on ebay with a reserve price which equals the price of the consoles + shipping. You are guaranteed profits. The console will normally sell for twice its original price. If you get more, even better. If you really want one of the consoles, keep one for yourself or wait till the hysteria dies down.
Have fun with the money :)
Hacking ATMs for fun and profit
ATMs are all over the news now. Recent events have caused them to be thrust in the spotlight. I read about this first in this article.
Hacking an ATM is very simple.- Find an ATM
- Look at the model
- Search the internet for the manual for that model
- Read the manual
- See how you can enter the machine’s administration mode
- Enter the administration mode. Do stuff
I don’t blame the manufacturers for having super easy default passwords on the machines and easy ways to get to the admin mode. Most of their clients are greedy, dumb store owners who want to install one of these so they can make money off the hefty transaction fees. Come to think of it I’ve paid $15 once for ATM fees. Ridiculous ! These ATM machine owners are supposed to change the password when they get the machine, but most of them don’t because they dont bother to read the manual. All they want is the machine to work and earn them some income. Its just like asking your average computer user to keep changing passwords. They don’t. Most of the times its mainly because everyone thinks, who is going to target me ? Anyway back to the article.
Here is a video of how it’s done.
Now kids at home, do not try this or try to get your hands on one of the manuals. I am not posting links for the manuals because obviously if you are dumb enough to try this, you are dumb enough to get caught.
Even after all these recent incidents, the ATM vendors haven’t taken their manuals offline. They are all freely downloadable. I found a manual in about 10 minutes of searching.
